Grants
A good grant program takes time.
Grants work best as one part of a funding plan, not the whole plan. Once you’re clear on what you do and can demonstrate your impact, you can build a grant program you can rely on.
Grant Readiness & Review
$350 per organization · Two calls, two weeks apart
Send me what you have. My grants team reviews it and researches funders, then I walk you through what we found: where you stand, which funders fit, and what to do first.
Choose this if you’re new to grants, or not sure which funders align with your work.
You leave with
- A clear picture of where you stand
- Funders that fit your work, and why
- Which funders aren’t a fit
- A short written summary, with your next steps
What it asks of your team: A short intake call, your required materials (past grants, budget, program details), and a findings call two weeks later.
When: Start anytime
Who attends: Your ED
How to start: If you’re not sure whether you’re ready for grants, start with the free Grant Readiness Self-Check (a 2-page PDF), then let’s talk. We’ll make sure this is the right first step. There’s no commitment, and I’ll send an invoice only if we decide to move forward.
Individual Grant Writing
Starting at $400 per proposal · One proposal at a time
Every proposal is different. After a short review meeting, I confirm the scope and give you a price before we begin.
Choose this if you have an established grant program and need more writing capacity.
You bring
- The opportunity and why it’s a fit
- Your strategy
- Your budget
- Your feedback on drafts
My grants team writes
- A full draft from your direction and materials
- Revisions until it’s ready to submit
- Your voice and format, matched
What it asks of your team: A short review meeting at the start, and your feedback on drafts.
When: Start anytime
To get started: Share the opportunity, your strategy, your budget and your three most recent grant applications
Not included: finding funders, deciding which grants to pursue, or building your grant strategy. That work happens in the Grant Retainer or Grant Readiness & Review.
How to start: If you have an opportunity in mind, let’s talk. We’ll make sure it’s a good fit for your organization, then I’ll confirm the scope and price before we begin. There’s no commitment, and I’ll send an invoice only if we decide to move forward.
Grant Retainer
$1,500 / month · 6-month term · my grants team owns the whole process
My grants team and I run your grants from start to finish: we find the funders, keep the calendar, write, and prepare all materials for submission. I start with strategy and a review of your budget, so every proposal draws from them.
Every month
- A 30-minute check-in call
- Up to 3 submissions per month: strategic mix of proposals and LOIs
- Every submission reviewed before it goes out
Every quarter
- A strategy session and a 90-day grant plan
- Funder research and a deadline calendar
- A quarter-end summary: submitted, awarded, pending, and what’s next
What it asks of your team: One 30-minute call a month, to approve what’s going out and answer our questions. The month 1 and month 4 calls run 60 minutes, for the quarterly strategy session.
When: Start anytime
Commitment: 6-month term. At month 5, I give you a report to share with your board and we have a renewal conversation. A full year is best, since grants take time to build.
Government grants are quoted separately. Following the Grant Professionals Association code of ethics, my team and I never charge a percentage of grants awarded.
How to start: If you want one team to run your grants, let’s talk. We’ll make sure it’s the right fit and the right time for your organization, then we’ll set your start date and plan your first strategy session. There’s no commitment, and I’ll send an invoice only if we decide to move forward.
Not sure which fits?
Book a free 30-minute call. I’ll talk through where you are and what fits, including when the answer is “not yet.”
