Working Together
We work with people we care about, many of them friends and peers. Writing down how we work together keeps expectations clear and kind on both sides. These terms apply to every Know & Tell program, coaching engagement, product, and grants service. When you enroll, pay, or sign a proposal, you’re agreeing to them.
What we provide, and what we don’t
We provide coaching, training, tools, facilitation, and, for grants clients, writing and research. We bring our best thinking and our full attention. We can’t guarantee fundraising results, grant awards, or donor responses. Those depend on many things outside our control, including your follow-through, funders’ decisions, and the people you invite. What we promise is the work, done well, and the support described for your offer.
Nothing we provide is legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice. When a question needs one of those, we’ll tell you, and point you to the right kind of professional.
Payment
- One-time offers (the INVITE: Living Room cohort, the CLEAR Session, the CLEAR Intensive, Budget Clarity, Measuring What Matters, INVITE: Monthly Donor, GATHER Board Trainings, coaching, grants projects) are paid before the work begins, unless your proposal says otherwise.
- Monthly plans (the Know & Tell Partnership and the Grant Retainer): an invoice is sent at the end of each month, and payment is expected within 14 days. The Founder’s Journey is paid by the quarter.
- Late payment: if payment is more than 30 days past due, we pause the work and pick it back up when the invoice is paid.
- Quoted separately: anything that needs a separate quote (such as campaign materials or government grants) is provided in writing before the engagement begins.
Changes, cancellations, and refunds
If your plans change, talk with us first. Here’s how it works.
- Sessions, cohorts, and projects: You can reschedule once at no cost with at least 14 days’ notice. If you cancel with at least 14 days’ notice, you get a full refund, less any work already done. After that, we’ll credit what you paid toward another Know & Tell offer within 12 months. If we cancel, you get a full refund or a seat in the next one, your choice. A group session you miss isn’t refunded; we share the recording or notes when everyone agreed to recording.
- Monthly plans: The Partnership is a twelve-month commitment, and either side may end it with 60 days’ written notice. The Grant Retainer is a six-month commitment, and either side may end it early with 30 days’ written notice. The Founder’s Journey is paid by the quarter: you can step away between quarters, and a quarter already started isn’t refundable.
- Downloads and printed sets: You can cancel within 48 hours of purchase for a full refund. Digital files aren’t refundable once delivered, and printed sets aren’t refundable once printing begins. Sets damaged in shipping are replaced.
Confidentiality
Everything you share with us stays between your organization, Know & Tell, and the team members working on your project: your financials, donor and participant information, board conversations, and what you tell us in sessions. In cohorts, we ask every participant to keep what others share in the room. We never sell or share your information. We keep participant information to the minimum the work needs.
Recording
We record sessions only with everyone’s agreement, said out loud at the start. Recordings are used to write your materials (like your C.L.E.A.R. Blueprint) or to share with cohort members who missed a session, and are deleted once that work is done.
Your materials, and ours
What you create with us is yours: your Blueprint, your rubric, your donor messages, your proposals. You can use Know & Tell’s workbooks, templates, and frameworks freely inside your own organization. Please don’t resell them, teach them as your own program, or share them outside your organization without asking. If you’d like to share something with a colleague, ask; we usually say yes.
Our team
Know & Tell works with a small team of trusted contractors (for example, on grant writing, research, scheduling, and printed materials). Anyone who works on your project follows these same confidentiality terms.
How we use AI
We see AI as a tool, and we use it to work more efficiently: drafting, organizing research, and summarizing notes. It doesn’t replace our judgment. Everything we deliver, including plans, proposals, reports, emails, and graphics, is reviewed and edited by a person before it reaches you or anyone else. Nothing is published or sent straight from AI.
Feedback and stories
We send a feedback form after every project, and on a regular basis for retainers and partnerships. We use what we learn to improve our practice. With your consent, we’ll use quotes and stories in our marketing to encourage other leaders. You can say no, or change your mind later.
If something goes wrong
Tell us first, and we’ll work it out together; that’s how we’d want to be treated. If there’s a claim related to our work, Know & Tell’s responsibility is limited to the amount you paid for the offer in question.
